MVWSD is grateful we have a team of administrators who are education experts and have the needs of all of our students at heart. We are happy to announce new administrators as well as new assignments for some of our school administrators for the 2024-25 school year. Their talents will serve these schools well.


Crittenden Principal Annie Flores-Aikey will be transitioning into an administrator-at-large role at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. She will be on campus at the beginning of the year during a planned transition time for a thoughtful handover to a new principal before her retirement. During this period, Ms. Flores-Aikey will work closely with the incoming principal to ensure continuity and stability for our students and staff. 

Julie ThompsonCurrent Assistant Principal Julie Thompson will be the new Crittenden Middle School Principal next year. Her 16 years of administrative experience includes her time at Crittenden and an Assistant Principal at Graham Middle School in 2022-23. She has served as assistant principal and principal in the Redwood City School District. She has also served as Director of Human Resources for the Campbell Union High School District, and as an assistant principal in the San Mateo Union High School District and in the Hayward Unified School District. Ms. Thompson has bilingual education experience as a Spanish/bilingual teacher overseas, in the Sequoia Union High School District, and the Ravenswood School District. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from UC Davis, a master’s degree in education from San Francisco State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from UC Berkeley.


Steve ChesleyCrittenden teacher Steve Chesley will be the new Assistant Principal. He has a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fostering a supportive environment and strong connections with students. Mr. Chesley has worked in MVWSD for 24 years, and has significant experience as an administrator and as a teacher.  He was an Assistant Principal at Graham Middle School for five years and Principal at Landels Elementary for three years. He has a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico, and a master’s in education and an administrative credential from University of San Francisco.


Meghan JingujiMs. Meghan Jinguji will be the new Monta Loma Elementary School Principal next year. Ms. Jinguji is an instructional leader who strives to foster school environments that are student centered and are built on a strong sense of community. She worked as Principal of Franklin School (K-8; Loomis Union School District) since 2018 where she received recognition for its Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs. She has also worked as an Assistant Principal at Olympus Jr. High (Eureka USD) for four years, and as Curriculum and Instruction Leader at Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District for 11 years. Ms. Jinguji was also an Adjunct Professor at CSU Sacramento teaching curriculum and assessment. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and taught physical education at the middle school and high school levels.  She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA).



Jane JungMs. Jane Jung will be the new Bubb Elementary School Principal next year.  She served as the Assistant principal at Ellen Fletcher, Palo Alto this past year. Prior to Palo Alto, she worked as the Assistant Principal in San Mateo-Foster City’s Bowditch Middle School. She has four years of school administrative experience. She has worked as a teacher, literacy interventionist, and language and literacy specialist in New York, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Fremont. She earned her bachelor’s degree, bachelor’s of education degree, and master’s in education degree from the University of Calgary, and an administrative credential from Cal State East Bay. She is also a National Board Teacher certified in literacy.

 

Frank SelvaggioMr. Frank Selvaggio, an educator with 25 years of experience, will be the new Director of Special Education. He has been the Executive Director of Special Education in Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District since 2017. Mr. Selvaggio has also worked as Executive Director of Special Education in Washoe County School District, Reno, NV. Besides overseeing Special Education in two districts, Frank has also served as an Executive Director of Student Services, Director of Graduation and Re-Engagement, Principal, Response-To-Intervention Coordinator and School Psychologist. Mr. Selvaggio holds master’s degrees in School Administration, School Psychology, and Special Education from Azusa Pacific University, National University and University of Phoenix, respectively.


Sebastian BenavidezMr. Sebastian Benavidez III will be the new Graham Middle School Principal next year. He has more than 27 years of educational experience. Most recently, he served as Principal at Frank S. Greene Jr. Middle School in the Palo Alto Unified School District, earning recognition for fostering collaborative relationships with families and staff to enhance student and school outcomes. Mr. Benavidez spent over 15 years in the Fresno Unified School District, culminating in his role as an elementary Vice Principal. There, he spearheaded initiatives to improve school climate, implement effective student supports, and mentor educators. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from California State University, Fresno, and a Master’s in Education from National University, Fresno.

 

Jackee KeirnsMrs. Jackee Keirns, formerly the assistant principal at Crittenden Middle School and the Castro Elementary principal for the last two years, will be an assistant principal at Graham Middle School. Ms. Keirns has more than 17 years of teaching and school leadership experience, including Title 1 schools. She has been the social studies department chair, teacher in charge, seventh- and eighth-grade social studies teacher, and PBIS team lead at Leonard Herman Intermediate School, San Jose. She also taught elementary school in San Jose for four years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego, earned her master’s in education from University of California Santa Cruz, and a master’s in educational administration from Concordia University.



Scott WilburDr. Scott Wilbur is the new principal at Mariano Castro Elementary. A successful school leader for 27 years, Dr. Wilbur has worked as a principal in the Hollister School District since 2013 at Accelerated Achievement Academy and Gabilan Hills Elementary School. He has led two different CA Distinguished Schools and a National Blue Ribbon School. He also served as principal in Alvord Unified School District, Nuview Union School District, and Capistrano Unified School District. Dr. Wilbur graduated from UCLA with honors and spent a year teaching in the Japanese Public School System on the prestigious J.E.T. Program. He earned an MBA from UC Irvine and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA.


Karin JinboMs. Karin Jinbo, most recently the Director of Student Support Services and Special Education, will be the new Director of Health and Wellness and will serve in the MVWSD Administrative Services Department. She is returning to this role that she served in from 2020-2022 in order to support the district’s focus on increased academic, mental health and social-emotional support to students. In addition to focusing on programs that improve instruction for students based on their individual academic and social-emotional needs, she and Brian White, Coordinator of Health and Wellness, will oversee implementation of a new social-emotional curriculum for students.

Ms. Jinbo has 20+ years of experience in education; primarily in Special Education. She has served as Special Education Coordinator, Mental Health in the Santa Ana Unified School District, and as Coordinator for Special Education, Behavioral Health in the Novato Unified School District. She has a master’s in legal studies from Arizona State University, a master’s from Azusa Pacific University, and a master’s in education and bachelor’s of science from the University of Connecticut.

Dalewyn SpinksMr. Dalewyn Spinks is the new Assistant Director in the Maintenance Operations and Transportation team.  He works with MOT Director Brian Perron to lead custodial and maintenance teams in maintaining the cleanliness of campuses and facilities. He was the Facilities Maintenance Manager at Hayward Unified School District. Before that, he did facilities work for Google and biotech companies while working with Cushman and Wakefield.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and an MBA from Fayetteville State University.

Eduardo Rios PachecoMr. Eduardo Rios Pacheco is the new district SCEF/McKinney-Vento Liaison. Eduardo works together with Priscila Bogdanic on district community engagement needs and specifically to support our families and students who are unhoused. Prior to this assignment, Eduardo was the School Community Engagement Facilitator (SCEF) at Bubb and Imai schools. He has also worked for Milpitas Unified School District as a Transition Program Counselor/ Workforce Developer. He attended San Jose City College.
